The framework, published before you pay
A framework states what will be assessed, in what order and for what hour volume. Ours is the one from the filed catalogue, and it can be read in full on the site before any enrolment.
What a competency framework is
It is the breakdown of a trade into assessable blocks, each with its hour volume. The framework plays two roles at once: it tells you what to prepare, and it tells the verifier exactly what the certificate attests.

A framework read from the filed catalogue
Here are the blocks of one qualification from the catalogue, reproduced as they stand. The blocks' hours add up to the volume stated for the qualification: this is the first check an equivalence office runs, and it can be done in one's head.

What the framework makes possible
Publishing the framework before enrolment changes the relationship: you know what you are buying, and a third party knows what you proved. It is the most useful form of transparency, because it serves both sides at once.

Can the framework change mid-programme?
The one you enrolled on remains yours until the certificate is awarded. Changes apply to later enrolments, and the version that concerns you appears on your certificate.
